Robert M. "Rob" Hippensteel, 39, of Harrisburg, died Tuesday in Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center after he was struck by a car in Swatara Twp.
He was an employee of Sportsman's Golf Course, Lower Paxton Twp.; a former golf pro at Harrisburg North Golf Course, Millersburg, and a former assistant golf pro at Armitage Golf Course, Hampden Twp., and Colonial Country Club, Lower Paxton Twp. He was a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School; attended Methodist College, Fayetteville, N.C.; and was a member of Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Middletown.
Surviving are his parents, Robert M. and Helen M. Fabian Hippensteel of Harrisburg; two sisters, Tina M. Dean of Hummelstown and Susan L. Brawley of Middletown; and four nephews, Mark, Christopher and Joseph Dean, all of Hummelstown, and Jacob Brawley of Middletown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in his church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, West Hanover Twp.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in Neill Funeral Home, Paxtang, where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m., and 9 to 9: 45 a.m. Saturday in the church.
