He was born December 30, 1940, in Chickamauga, GA, and retired from Olan Mills as a Photograhic Supervisor after 26 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mable Jane Simerley.
Survivors include his son, Donald Brian Shelby; wife, Elizabeth Ann Biggers; brothers-in-law, Phillip Ralph Byrd, Dean (Sharon) Byrd, and Samuel (Sue) Byrd; niece, Theresa Brown; nephew, Donnie Brown; loving friend, Christi Cordell.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2009, in LaFayette Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Wildlife Federation at 11100 Wildlife Center Drive, Reston, VA.
