Fred Maurer was married in Sheboygan Co., May 27 1880 (per WHS marriage index), to Elisa Grosshusch. They appear in the 1880 census as Fred & Elise, in Herman, Sheboygan Co.
He was a minister with the Reformed Church, and served congregations in Wisconsin, Nebraska & Missouri. Fred & Elsie had 5 children: Charles, Jacob, Ida, Minnie, & Henry. Charles & Jacob also became ministers.
Elsie died in Nebraska in Oct 1895, and is buried there. Fred remarried June 6, 1896 to Margaret Trieck, who was born in Newton, Wisc. The family continued to reside in Nebraska until his death in 1907.
Following his death, Margaret and the 5 children relocated to Sheboygan. In 1910 they all resided together in the city of Sheboygan. In 1920-1930 Margaret is in Sheboygan, living with step-daughter Ida.
