Funeral services for Mrs. Walton Coleman of Fort Worth, sister of three Gatesvilleites, were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Leo's Chapel in McGregor. Rev. Harold Shirley of Oglesby officiated, and burial was in Restland Cemetery in Gatesville.
Mrs. Coleman, 68, died Saturday morning in a Waco Hospital.
The former Miss Minnie L. Swift, she was born in Osage. She married Mr. Coleman in Osage and they later resided in Waco where Mr. Coleman worked in the McLennan County Clerk's office. He died in 1963.
Mrs. Coleman was a member of the Birchman Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lester Berry of El Paso; a stepson, Davis Coleman of Fort Worth; two sisters, Mrs. Jenny Lou Rhoads of Gatesville and Mrs. Nora Weeks of Waco; five brothers Elmer Swift and Euell Swift both of Gatesville, Dee Swift of Waco, Calvin Swift of Washington, D.C., and Robert Swift of Buckeye, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
