Algernon Sidney Schell was one of East Point Georgia's founding fathers. He was one of the Charter signing members.


Mr. A. S. Schell, 76, Leader in East Point, Falls Dead in Yard

Mr. A. S. Schell, 76, a lifelong resident and widely known citizen of East Point, was stricken with a heart attack and dropped dead late Thursday, October 18, 1934, in the yard of his home on East Cleveland Avenue. He operated a shoe store in East Point for many years and took an active part in civic and religious affairs prior to his retirement. He was a devoted member of the First Methodist Church and a prominent Mason. Mr. Schell is survived by his wife; six daughters, Mrs. R. B. Callahan, Mrs. Harvey Lester, Mrs. James Allen, Mrs. Charley Britton, Jr., Mrs. Gwin Lipes of East point and Mrs. John Deaton of St. Petersburg, FL; and four sons, H. T., William A., and Algernon Schell of East Point and K. M. Schell of Chattanooga. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Howard L. Carmichael.
