An accomplished seamstress, Vinton loved to make clothes for her grandchildren, especially jumpsuits and vests. An excellent cook, she would hold several times a month a spaghetti dinner at her house, and many holidays were celebrated in her beloved finished basement (not to mention a few shuffleboard games there, too).
This second wife of widowed A. J. Palazzolo also maintained the yard of their house in Audubon Vale, Louisville—which looked professionally landscaped. She happily chauffered her husband (who never learned to drive!) around Louisville.
To relax, she solved crossword puzzles and played cards with her granddaughter and with anyone else who was willing to challenge her finely honed skill.
"Mom," as she was known to nearly all her relations, was as devoted to her grandchildren as to her children, and treated her in-laws as her own.
She was survived by one of her stepdaughters (the other had predeceased her), her daughter, and her son, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
