Birth: 1799
Virginia, USA
Death: Sep. 7, 1885
Walker County
Georgia, USA

John Long II was born in 1799 in
He was the son of Rev. George Washington
Long I and Nancy Elizabeth 'Maples' Long.
John was a member of the Baptist Church
all of his life.

John was married first to Elizabeth
'Allen.' They were married in Sevier
County, Tn., and to them were born:
James R.
George Allen
Isaac 11
Elizabeth 'Allen' Long died about
1834. Later, John was married to her
younger sister, Jane 'Allen' who was
born Oct. 26, 1814.

Elizabeth and Jane 'Allen' were sisters
of Nancy 'Allen' Long, wife of John's brother,
George Long 11.

To John and Jane 'Allen' Long were born:
Moses II
Jane 'Allen' Long died about 1843.

Thereafter, John was married for the 3rd
and last time.
John Long was married to Elizabeth 'Smelcer.'
They lived for a few years in McMinn County,
John and Elizabeth had 4 children:
John A.
George 'Adam'
In 1848, John moved his family to Georgia,
settling on a farm in the Chattanooga Valley,
near the present town of Cenchat, Walker
County, Georgia.
John and Elizabeth lived out their
lives in this area of Georgia, raising
their family.
John and his family attended the Lookout
Baptist Church, being faithful members
during their life time in Cenchat. John
and Elizabeth share a tombstone in the Old
Lookout Cemetery, next to the Lookout
Baptist Church.

NOTE: The family of John Long II
wrote a book about their branch
many years ago. With 3 wives, total
of 15 children, there isn't a son
named Edward? However all named
after family members and he named
a son John Albert.
NOTE: Pictures of some of the
family have been preserved and
documents on some of the grown
children's lives of John and
Elizabeth 'S.'Long.

My thanks to Doug for being so kind to
continue his search to find the correct
cemetery where John and Elizabeth are
buried. Also for taking their tombstone
picture and placing in on their memorial
pages for me.
