According to relatives, he came from the same village or town as Mary Baka and loved her so much that he followed her to the U.S. where he pursued her and later, married her. They had 4 children, Anna, Michael, John and Margaret.
He died in December of 1918, two months before his daughter Margaret was born. According to his death certificate, died of cancer of the liver.
He had a brother name Andrew Mitrisin
A family story is that the family had a black dog who couldn't be found after the funeral. a few days later he was found by a neighbor at the cemetery laying on top of John's grave.
