He was husband, first, of Ella Abbott (wed 31 July 1880, died 19 February 1893), then of Caroline "Callie" Quillen Merritt (wed 23 March 1893, died 16 March 1904), then of Mary H. Bosman Johnson (wed 24 December 1905; she survived him). Callie and Mary were both widows when they married Jake. He seems to have always lived in or near Blades.
Known children (some who did not survive to adulthood): [by Ella] Henry T., Julia, Horace J., Minnie, Cora E., [by Callie] Lena, Eva, Ralph B. "Brook", George E.
There is no known surviving marked grave for Jake, though it's known he was buried in one of the Blades cemeteries (which one is not specified on his death certificate) on Christmas Eve.

Gravesite Details
Although there's significant likelihood that Jake's grave may be in Blades' old M.E. church cemetery (two of his wives are known to be buried there), it could just as easily be in this cemetery. Jake's buried in one or the other cemetery.
