Earl James Celmer was born September 6, 1933 in Rockville, Nebraska. His family moved to Tacoma in 1939. He graduated from Stadium High School in 1951 and from the University of Puget Sound in 1955. He was charter member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Earl worked at Eagle Paper Box Company and retired as General Manager in 1989 after 31 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline, of 45 years and children: Marshall and wife Sandra, Bonnie, Paul and Heidi; and grandson Garrett. Survivors also include his brother, Merlin and sister, Vernice, many nieces and nephews and dear friends. His parents, Stanley and Emma preceded him in death. Earl was an avid fisherman and gardener and grew beautiful tomatoes and dahlias. He is well loved and will be terribly missed. He was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Sunday April 3, 2005, 7:00 pm at St. Martin of Tours Church and Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday April 4, 2005, 11:00 am at St. Martin of Tours Church. A reception will follow the service. Interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery in Federal Way. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Virginia Mason Foundation or another charity of your choice.
