Birth: Mar., 1750
Cumberland County
Pennsylvania, USA
Death: 1804
Cottontown

Notes from Albert H. Brigance "Brigance Genealogy Vol I":
William Brigance and his family, along with other Brigance families, were pioneer families in the Cumberland Settlement. At the time they arrived in the area, the Cumberland Settlement was considered a part of North Carolina. The area later became the State of Franklin and then still later, Sumner Co., TN.

Records in NC where early land grants for the Sumner Co (TN) area were granted, suggest William Brigance performed military service, perhaps in the Revolution.

He had 9 children:

James Brigance 1765 1880
Robert Brigance 1767 1792
Catherine Brigance 1780 1804
John Brigance 1782 1856
Mary Polly Brigance 1782
Charotte Brigance 1790 1842
William C. Brigance 1790 1842
Elizabeth Betsy Brigance 1792
Margaret Peggy Brigance 1797
