She married George Feickert November 3, 1945. He died March 1962, leaving her with six young children to raise.
December 8, 1962, she married Melvin Schmitz. He died in September 1997. Since September 1990 she has resided in Kearns UT.
Mrs Schmidt, 77, died January 23, 2002. Her survivors include three sons, Bill (Margie) Feickert, Terry, Bob (Kathy) Feickert, Marion NC, Mike (Pat) Feickert, Orem UT, and Terry (Patti) Feickert, Kearns UT; two daughters, Sandra Kasalek and Peggy (Tom) Feickert, Romney, Kearns UT; a sister, Dorothy Dillon, Hastings, ND; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
