Mrs. Miriam E. Hite (Harper), 72, Peru-Olena Road, died Friday night at Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Hite was born in Chippewa Lake, Ohio, but has lived in the Olena area 30 years. She moved there from Milan. She was a member of the Baptist Church of Brush Ridge Ohio. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd W., with whom she observed a 55th wedding anniversary two weeks ago; six sons, Harper L. and Walter L, both of Norwalk, William A. and Robert L, both of Olena, David N., rural Willard, and Paul C., of Ashland; four daughters, Mrs. Grant (Rosemary) Scovill, Oak Creek, Colo., Mrs. Burton (Shirley Ann) Coy and Mrs. George (Dorothy) Haupricht, both of Olena, Mrs. Harold (Helen) Herold, rural New London; 32 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mabel McDonald and Miss Harriet Harper, both of Chippewa Lake, and Mrs. Mary McMillian, Blake, Ohio, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren and a sister (Mildred) and brother, (Charles) Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, with Elder Dailey Hite, of Brush Ridge Ohio, and Rev. Charles Jenkins, of Olena officiating. Burial will follow in Olena Cemetery.
