Connie Faye Thennis was born on January 13, 1962 in Sisseton, SD to Arliss and Hilda (Deer) Thennis. She was baptized and confirmed in the Episcopal Faith. Connie graduated from Waubay High School. Following her education she cleaned houses in the Waubay area until 2005, when she went to work for Enemy Swim Day School as a facilities person until May 2011 when she was diagnosed with cancer. Connie was a member of St. James' Episcopal Church. Connie enjoyed watching old western movies, playing yahtzee, playing bingo, doing word find puzzles and she liked to sing and dance. Connie passed away on August 16, 2012 at the Bethesda Home in Webster, SD. Connie is survived by five children, Michael Thennis of Brookings, SD, Jonathan Thennis and Theodore Thennis of Watertown, SD, Amy Thennis of Sioux Falls, SD, and Chris Thennis of Waubay, SD; thirteen grandchildren; and one brother, Gary and wife, Martha Lovejoy Sr. of Grand Forks, ND; two nieces, Michele and Jennifer; and one nephew Gary Lovejoy Jr.; and many relatives. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Ronald Thennis; two brothers, Michael Jackson and Wayne Thennis.
