I have seen Emmet spelled both ways, Emmit and Emmet.

Emmit's WW I Draft Registration was completed September 12, 1918, at Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. Emmit is a carpenter, 35, working for Grant, Smith & Porter Ship Company. His wife Letie Trimble is his closest relative, 1181 Kirby Street, Portland, OR. Emmit is described as medium height, slender build, blue eyes and brown hair.

The 1940 Dade County, MO Census lists Emmit Trimble, 56, and wife "Leddie," 53, living with his mother "Lovona" (Luvenia), 84. Emmit has a 7th grade education, Lettie, 6th grade. Emmit is working as a laborer on a road construction project. In 1935 the couple was living in Los Angeles County, California.

After the death of his mother Luvenia in 1944, Emmet and Leta bought her home next door to his sister Ada Jones and family.
