CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Cecil L. Goshorn, 69, of 1048 Marvern Drive, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1999, at his home.
Born Feb. 5, 1929, in Huntingdon, Pa., he was the son of the late David B. and Helen Gifford Goshorn.
He retired in 1979, after 30 years with Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg. He then worked in the landscaping business and was employed by Franklin County Office of Aging.
He served in the U.S. Army in Germany.
He attended Chambersburg Bible Church in Chambersburg, and was a member of Berean Bible Class.
He was a member of Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion, and Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, both of Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Rubeck Goshorn, whom he married Sept. 14, 1951; a daughter, Deborah Goshorn Stenger of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three sons, Gary L. Goshorn of Heidelberg, Germany, Robert L. Goshorn of Chambersburg and John L. Goshorn of Waynesboro, Pa.; a sister, Pauline Goshorn Wall of Chambersburg; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jay W. Goshorn.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Chambersburg Bible Church, 810 Orchard Drive, Chambersburg. The Rev. John R. Springer and the Rev. David W. Kraft will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Chambersburg, with military graveside services by Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg; and Monday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to Chambersburg Bible Church, 810 Orchard Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
