Ichabod was the son of John Crippen Jr. and an Unknown Wife.

Ichabod married Mary Whiting (she born August 25, 1765 in MA; died July 9, 1850). Hannah Crippen and Isaac Skidmore were present at the time of the wedding.

Ichabod was a Revolutionary War soldier. Information has been taken from his pension record and the family Bible. He was living at time of enlistment in Nobletown, Albany, NY.
