Chubby was the son of my daughter's cat "C. C." , which she adopted at the Pet Store, and his mother was Jasmine, a cat that Barry, my ex-husband found and brought home. Barry had put most of the cats outside, including all of the other kittens from the litter, but this one had managed to keep getting back into the house, and since it did use the litter box, he didn't chase it out. Samantha said that he would wake up and the kitten would be sleeping with him.
He was very very tiny, as you can see in the first picture, he was also very very feral, but not quite as bad as his father. (His father, C. C. would hide in the rafters of the house and not let anyone near him. Very few people besides our direct family even got to see him because he hid when anyone was here.
He was a tiny little thing when Jason brought him to me and almost starved to death. He immediately hid under my bed and I had to work on winning his trust. One night I woke up in the middle of the night and he was in bed with me sleeping and from that day on, he did this every day. He began to eat and get stronger. He developed the sweetest personality but remained very very afraid of strangers and would not come out in their presence.
He was very sweet and especially liked to play with us. He was the only cat I had ever seen who could play fetch. You could throw a plastic wrapper and he would retrieve it and bring it back to you. He would be just like a beagle, wiggling his tail and back end waiting for you to do it one more time. It was something to watch. He did not play this game with anyone but myself and my husband and then one day he began to play it with my daughter. I wish that I had a video so that you would believe it, but I swear, he could play fetch with the best of any dog.
