Gale was born July 1, 1943, in Stamford, Texas, the first child of H.D. and LaDelle Macon Robinson. She graduated Stamford High School in 1961 and began a 40 year career working in a variety of administrative positions. Following retirement from West Texas Utilities/AEP she fought a courageous battle agains Pulmonary Sarcoidosis that finally claimed her life, but never her spirit or her faith.
Gale married Jim Hargrove of Abilene on June 4, 1966. They made Abilene their home where her greatest joys were being his wife, and the mother of their son, Chris, and being "Cricket" to her grandchildren. Gale never hesitated to let others know Jesus was her personal Savior and Lord. She was a member of Broadview Baptist Church for more than 33 years where she sang in the choir and served as the Dorcas Ladies' Sunday School class teacher.
Gale was also a proud member of the John Davis Chapter Daughters of the American Revoluntion where she held various offices, including Chapter Regent, and was a charter member of the Frontier Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
Gale is survived by her husband; a son Chris Hargrove and wife, Bethann; grandson Macon Hargrove; granddaughter Hannahgrace Hargrove; a brother, Jerry Robinson of New Braunfels; a sister, Nancy Robinson (Mrs. Bill) Masters of Abilene; and her dear Christian friend, Diane Ward. She will be missed by her beloved kitty cats, which made the difficult days of her illness more bearable.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family expresses thanks to Hendrick Medical Center Critical Care staff, Hendrick Hospice, and to Dr. Cavouti and Dr. Pate. They also express thanks to Dr. Kenneth Ausloos and staff at Baylor Hospital, Dallas. In honoring Gale's wishes, the family requests memorials be made to Elmdale Baptist Church Building Fund, Gateway Baptist Church, Broadview Baptist Church, or Rescue the Animals.
Jesus promised, "I go to prepare a place for you and if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also." John 14, 1-3.
Gale placed her faith in the One who made this promise, we know where she is, and Who she is with. Our momentary loss is her eternal gain.
