Allan George Morris ,63, Hollister, Missouri, passed away at 6:15 am July 15, 1997, in Skaggs Community Health Center, Branson.

Allan was born November 6, 1933 in Dade County, Missouri the only child of Albert George and Verna Mae (Jones) Morris. He spent his childhood years living at the Chesapeake Fish Hatchery and graduated from Springfield Senior High School. He attended Southwest Missouri State University and graduated from Drury College with a B.S. in business administration with departmental distinction. Allan served in the Naval Reserves during the Korean War era. He was a graduate of the National Commercial Lending School of the American Bankers Association at the University of Oklahoma. He married his wife April 11, 1954, in the First Baptist Church, Springfield.

He enjoyed 36 years in the banking profession, working many years in Springfield and finishing his career in Branson. He was a charter member and treasurer of the Ozark Empire Chapter of the American Institute of Banking; Treasurer of the Dogwood Trails Council, Girl Scouts of America; Treasurer of Springfield Workshop, committee member; Cubmaster and Weblo leader of Cub Scout Pack 203, and committee member and Scoutmaster of Troop 203, Boy Scouts of America. He was treasurer of Tri-County Bankers Association and secretary of Tri-Lakes Lions Club. He was a member of Tri-Lakes Board of Realtors, First Presbyterian Church, Branson and a lifelong supporter of the Democratic Party.

Allan was a quiet, gentle man with deep respect and acceptance of all people. He loved nature and outdoor activities, and spent many happy hours hunting and fishing with family and friends. He fought Alzheimer's Disease with strength and courage, participating in two clinical trials for medications that might help others with the disease.

He is survived by his wife, three children, four grandchildren and his mother-in-law.

Memorial services were Thursday, July 17, 1997 at the First Presbyterian Church, Branson, with Revs. Sammy Shrum and Dean Hendricks officiating. Graveside services were at the Dadeville Masonic Cemetery, Dadeville.
