Husband of Betty Vandenbosch and Dad of Nancy Carol Vandenbosch (11 months old) who resided in Rochester, New York.

Grover served as a Private First Class in the 325th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided at 970 Clinton Avenue. North, Rochester, Monroe County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on December 9, 1942 in Rochester, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment,as being employed as a Driver with the Ontario Ice & Coal Company and also as Married.

He was first wounded in action on June 9, 1944, presumably in France. Grover was later "Killed In Action" in Belgium during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters.
