Lawrence was serving in the Marine Reserves
when he signed up for active duty and was
issued orders for Vietnam.When he arrived
in Vietnam 27 February 1968 he was assigned
to HMM-362,MAG-15,1st Marine Air Wing.
Lawrence was the pilot of a UH-34D helicopter
that collided in mid-air with another UH-34D
helicopter during a combat operation and he
died as a result of multiple injuries to his
body.There were no survivors and all the
bodies were recovered.
Lawrence served his country for two years.
Survived by his widow,Elaine M Houck of
Palmyra,PA and his parents,Lawrence E and
Betty J Houck of Rural Delivery #3,Box 710,
