Birth: Aug. 20, 1783
Death: Mar. 10, 1850

Born at Haddam, Middlesex, Connecticut to Benjamin Burr and Elizabeth Platt. Married Chloe Clark on March 17, 1811. He and his wife were passengers on the Ship Brooklyn in it's voyage from New York City to San Francisco by way of Cape Horn and the Hawaiian Islands. A farmer by trade he took his family to Salt Lake City with the Ebenezer Brown Company in 1848, but needing money, he returned to California to try his luck at gold prospecting during the Gold Rush. Died and was buried on the trail outside of Sacramento.
