Anton was born in Unhost, Bohemia, Austria (now the Czech Republic). He immigrated to the United States on January 23, 1889 on the ship "Bohemia". He settled in David City, Butler Co., Nebraska. He was a tailor there.

In 1890 he married Venus Otoupalik of David City, Nebraska. Shortly after, they moved to Butte, Silver Bow Co., Montana where he continued to be a tailor until his retirement.

In 1903 his 5 year old son, Winfield, died of pneumonia and his wife, Venus, died 2 months later of a "broken heart" her obituary states. Then in 1918 his remaining son, Jerry Joseph, was killed in action by machine gun fire in the Meuse-Argonne in France 2 weeks before the end of W W 1. His only remaining child was Victoria Clair Nedved. She married James William Watts in 1915 and lived in Portland, Oregon at the time of Anton's death.

Anton was my paternal great grandfather.
