Jerry Don Sailors, 59, of Amarillo died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Paramount Baptist Church with Dr. Gil Lain and Zeb Sailors, minister of Stinnett Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Mr. Sailors was born in Pecan Gap and was raised in Sanford. He graduated from Phillips High School in 1962 and served in the Navy for 13 years from 1962 to 1974. He was stationed in Nashville, Amarillo and Vietnam.
He married Ruby Futch in 1994 and had been a resident of Amarillo for many years. He worked for John Chandler Ford and was in the restaurant business for five years at Mother Futch's on East Interstate 40. He served his last four years in the Navy as a recruiter in the Amarillo area. He was a member of Paramount Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dewey Sailors.
Survivors include his wife; a son, John Sailors of Melbourne, Australia; a daughter, Joetta Gallardo of Lubbock; three stepdaughters, Renee Bland of Dallas, Debbie Futch of Amarillo and Tracy Peterson of Dallas; a brother, Zeb Sailors of Stinnett; and a granddaughter, Lindsey Bland of Dallas.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
