John Wolfe, Sr. Dies as His Son Arrives Back At Home Port
Richard Wolfe, who landed in New York yesterday after having been in the military service overseas, is having a sad homecoming. His father, John Wolfe, Sr., 628 Wright street, died at 8:15 o'clock this morning, four months after his mother passed away. Both of Richard's parents, as will be seen, have passed away while he has been absent from LaSalle in the service of his country. John Wolfe, Sr., expired this morning at St. Mary's hospital, where he had been a patient for the last few days following an attack of pneumonia. His condiction has been critical and yesterday little hope was held out by the attending physicians for his recovery. On November 15, Mrs. Wolfe died at the family home, after having suffered a stroke of paralysis. Mr. Wolfe was sixty-eight years old, having been born in Ireland in 1851. He came to LaSalle in his boyhood days and had resided here continuously. For twenty-eight years he was employed at the Western Clock Company plant, serving as foreman of the buffing department. Surviving him are three children: Mrs. Jennie Maloney, wife of William J. Maloney of Utica; John Wolfe, Jr.,of LaSalle and Richard of the U.S. Army. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock from the residence to St. Patrick's church, with interment in St. Vincent's cemetery.
