"Until the 12th of Never, and that's a long, long time."
Today, the first day of Spring, Thursday, 21 March 2013 my sweet wife passed away at home. Her four daughters and son, son-in-law, and i were attending her return to Father in Heaven and to her own dear mother and father who had preceded her when she was 11 and 16. She was received by them at 12:19 AM Celestial Time.
Such a fighter; she followed the advice of her Temple Sealer and was persistent until the end. She won battles with three different cancers, but it took combined efforts of both leukemia and a sarcoma to bring her down, but not conquered. She returned to Father a valiant and obedient servant of Our Lord, and to her Savior whom she completely believed and trusted. Fae was a spiritual, kind, giving and totally loving woman; without guile.
Fae was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She faithfully served in many callings, in ward and stake Relief Society presidency, RS visiting teacher, ward missionary and a stake calling to teach conversational English. She had served a full-time mission for the Church in Georgia, USA
She was a heck of a lot of fun, game for anything, wonderful to be with.
Fae had been married to Dale S Call and reared five wonderful daughters and son whom she preceeds: Karie D Call (Todd) Powell, Mapleton UT; Laura D Call (Jeff) Eddington of Olivenhain CA; Brandon D (Christina) Call of Springville UT; Jenny D Call (Stuart) Farnsworth of Romania and Emily D Call (Doug) Warner of Olivenhain CA.; 24 adored grandchildren (12 girls and 12 boys;) six siblings; a step-sister, Dolores Larsen; and love of her life, John.
Fae and John were married 27 December 2007 in the San Diego CA LDS Temple with all her family and so, so many friends present.
Soon after settling in, Fae expressed a desire to serve another mission for The Church. They were called to the Dominican Republic Santo Domingo East Mission as FamilySearch digitizers. It was during a physical exam that her third cancer was discovered, leukemia. Her doctors and Missionary Committee understood she was able to serve without problems from the disease. Five months into service she became ill with a 4th cancer which resulted in release from her call. Fae and John returned to Spanish and surgery was performed to remove several cancerous tumors.
In early February this year another tumor became visible at her breastbone - a sarcoma. Down, but it took five of them to do it
Fae was fifth born of seven, to Joanna Kennard Barson and Hyrum John Barson, in Logan UT. It was a dark and snowy blizzard night drive from the family home in Clarkston. She was delivered in the same hospital where her mother had nursed to health and met Hyrum John whom she would marry.
Fae precedes her six sisters and brothers: Carol Barson (Norm) Gardner of Mission Viejo Ca; Vaudis Barson (Reed) Davis of Kaysville Ut; F. Kennard Barson (Margie) of Salt Lake City Ut; Clyde J (Jeannett) Barson of Springville Ut; her baby sister Frances Barson (Mark) Anderson of Lindon Ut; and baby brother Duane (Sherrie) Barson of Harriman Ut. She leaves her husband of 5yrs 2mos and 22days.
Fae is loved and missed by so many who knew this dear sweet woman, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and wife.
Funeral services were held Saturday, 23 March at the River View Ward Chapel.
LaFae Barson Dahl was buried in Spanish Fork City Cemetery, 25 March 2013
