One of the original pioneers of the Colorado Springs and Old Colorado City area. Mr. Buzzard owned one of the largest herds of sheep in the area of Falcon, Colorado and was partnered with Joseph Sharratt. He lived on the plains during the difficulties with the Indians. He homesteaded 160 acres under the Homestead Act and has grandchildren in the area east of Falcon that own and live on the land he homesteaded in the 1870s. He died in his home in Colorado Springs just after his 88th birthday. His granddaughter Louise Solberg is the recognized historian for the Falcon area.
