The fourth of at least eight children born to Charles William & Nancy (Lane) Dungey of Giles Co TN, later of Williamson Co IL, John married Hannah A Scogin sometime before Jul 1860, probably in DeWitt Co IL, the daughter of William & Margaret (Karr) Scogin of Wapella, De Witt Co IL

Children with Nancy:
1) Harriet Jane "Jenny" Dungey (b: 1861)
2) Margaret Amelia Dungey (1863-1950), m: Mr Barnard.
3) Walter J Dungey (1865-1929), m: Hattie Belle Holland.
4) Alice Dungey (1868-1909), never married.
5) Elbert Lucian Dungey (1870-1943), m: Iva Ann Garner.
6) Erie Edith Dungey (1873-aft 1927), m: Dr John Park Dougall.
7) Rose "Rosie" Ellen Dungey (1877-1936), Charles Berry Shepherd.
8) Elizabeth "Lizzie" Amanda Dungey (1880-1927), m: John Rudolph Leiman.

Note: Possibly two additional children died at birth.

John was a farmer. He is my son's 3rd paternal Gr-Grandfather.
