Coddington, nee Campbell, 88, of New Baden, Ill., born Saturday, Nov. 20, 1920, in National City, Ill., died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at Clinton Manor in New Baden, Ill. Mrs. Coddington was a retired secretary and a former member of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence J. Coddington; parents, Burton M. and Minnie F., nee Hillgamyer, Campbell; brother, Burton Campbell; and sister, Charlotte Green. Surviving are daughters, Janice D. (Jim) Denny of New Baden, Ill., Joyce A. (Michael) Thurston of Wright City, Mo., grandchildren, Laurie (Kevin) Jeffreys, Jason Denny, Matthew (Mistie) Denny, Brian Denny and Jamie (Phillip) Constantine; great-grandchildren, Mara Denny and Matthew Denny. Memorials may be made to the Clinton Manor Living Center-Activity Fund. Visitation: Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Ill. Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at Kurrus Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ed Givens officiating. Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, Ill.
