Edward J. (Joe) Allen, 78, retired dairyman, died at his home, 2620 Allen street, at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. He had lived in Lake Charles for the past 55 years. He was a native of Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Hixson funeral home. Officiating ministers will be Rev. Dana Terry, pastor of the Eastdale Baptist church, assisted by the Rev. Seth Baggett, pastor of the Reeves Congregational church. Burial is to be held in the Graceland cemetery.

He is survived by nieces; Mrs. Estelle *(Dubard) Cannon and Mrs. Clotile *(Clothilde Dubard) Spell and nephews; W.C. *(William Curtis Dubard), J. S.,*(John Sirus Dubard), Charlie S. *(Charlie Sylvester Dubard), and George A. *(Arthur) Dubard, all of Lake Charles.
