John, who resided at 1613 Lancaster Avenue, Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware, served as a Private with Company K, 60th Infantry, 9th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He enlisted in the Army on October 20, 1943 in Camden, New Jersey. He was noted as Married.

He was "Killed In Action" while fighting in France and was awarded the Purple Heart.
