Maria married Carl Grube about 1855-1858, probably at the local Evangelical Lutheran parish in Zinzelitz (now Dzięcielec). They had at least three children, August, Caroline, and Carl (Charles). All five departed Groß Boschpol in 1866 and traveled to Hamburg where they boarded the ship Star of Hope on 13 April. They arrived in Quebec a few weeks later and from there continued to Chicago.
Sadly, Carl Grube died only a few months after the family's arrival, on 30 July 1866 in Chicago. Maria married second husband Ferdinand Bogda, who was also widowed, on 21 January 1873 at First Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chicago. Ferdinand and Maria had at least three children, Fritz, Anna, and Clara.
