O'BRIEN - Mattie Erdie Richards Barnard, 95, died Friday, May 19, 2000, at a Knox County hospital.
Graveside services are 3 p.m. Sunday at O'Brien Cemetery with Brother Dale Turner and Bill Trice officiating, directed by Mansell-Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Barnard was born in Erath County and moved with her family to the Knox City area 92 years ago. She married Rufus P. Barnard Sr.; he preceded her in death. She was a supervisor for the County Sewing Room from 1934-1940 and worked at the Haskell County Ration Board during World War II. She was the secretary for Northern Star Seed Farms before retiring, and was a member of O'Brien Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, R.P. Barnard Jr.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
