This death notice appeared in The Daily Leader newspaper on August 6, 1913:
We all regret very much to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. Knapp(sp) Westbrook, of Amite County.Mrs. Westbrook was one of our home girls; she was born and raised near Lucien. She was always known for her kindness and her religious zeal. We are sorry to part with such a one whom we so dearly love, but our loss is God's gain, so let this be a lesson to those left behind. We trust the Almighty that we may meet her on the other shore. She leaves behind a husband and three children, the smallest only a few weeks old.
