He was a member of GAR Post # 78 of Dansville.
A very pleasant event occurred on Sauturday, December 28, at the home of Mr & Mrs. (Ruth Amanda) Horace L. Aseltine, being their 50th wedding anniversary. Of their 7 children, 5 were present--4 sons and 1 daughter, 10 grandchildren. (One son and 1 daughter could not be present).
The marriage ceremony was performed by Rev. W.E. Brown at 2'clock and the couple was attended by a brother of the groom and his wife.
A purse of gold was presented to the parents by their children.
Congratulations offered, photographs taken, and a bontiful repast served, to which all did ample justice.
