He was born Walter Strunk son of Charles Strunk & Emma Maak. After his mothers marriage to Joseph Bingham in 1904 he took the Bingham name.

ARLINGTON - The funeral of Walter Edward Bingham, 75, a retired buyer and furniture salesman in Albany, N.Y., will be conducted Tuesday at 2 pm at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home by the Rev. Clement G. Belcher, rector of St. James Episcopal Church. Entombment will be in St. Columban's Cemetery.
Mr. Bingham, a World War I overseas veteran, died Saturday at Putnam Memorial Hospital, Bennington, after a long illness. He was born in Hoosick Falls, N.Y., March 18, 1888, son of Joseph and Emma (Maak) Bingham. After his education in Hoosick Falls school he went to Albany where he was employed by the Van Heusen & Childs Co. He and his wife, the former Elizabeth Fromma of Albany, moved to Arlington about 30 years ago. He worked for a time at the Hale Chair Co. here. He was a member of the local American Legion Post.
Besides his wife, he leaves three nephews, Fred and Walter Squires of Arlington, and Kenneth Yates of St. Petersburg, Fla.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
