Obituary--Bertha F. Proehl--March 3, 1980
Mrs. William Proehl, a resident of the Flint Hills Manor, died Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital. She had lived in Americus for many years, moving to Waverly in 1968 and to Emporia in 1972. She was a member of the Waverly Baptist Church and the 72 Club of Americus.
Services in the Waverly Baptist Church will be held Tuesday at 11 A. M., and burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia. The Jones funeral Home of Waverly is in charge of arrangements.

Bertha F. Newton, daughter of David S. and Clarinda Moser Newton, was born Feb. 26, 1890, in Lyndon. She married William Proehl in Emporia on Feb. 19, 1913. She is survived by her husband, of the Flint Hills Manor, three sons, Wayne Proehl, Rt. 5, Fredrick Proehl of Brier, MO., and Herman Proehl of Stover, MO., one sister Alice Stuck, 403 Arundel St. 24 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
