He was a retired Major in the U.S. Air Force. He was a pilot in World War II and Korea. He worked for the Gospel Publishing House and retired after 35 years. He was a member of the Kimberling City Ham Radio Club. He attended Riverdale Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Bill Menzies. Funeral services will be held in Riverdale Baptist Church, Nixa, Mo., Thursday, February 8, 2007, at 2 p.m., with visitation at 1 p.m. preceding the funeral.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Martha Black Menzies; two sons, David and Bruce, and their wives Nancy and Twyla; five grandchildren, Natalie Spradlin, Anne Menzies, Arch Menzies, Michael Menzies, and Tonya Lyons, all of Springfield; two sisters, Mary Doucey and Sherrill Lloyd; and ten great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Homer L. Menzies Scholarship, Evangel University, Springfield, Mo.
