George Willard Bailey, 48, a lifetime resident of the Farmer City area, died Sunday, February 20, 1966 at Brokaw Hospital, Normal, where he had been a patient since February 11. He had been ill for a year.

Funeral services were held at Stensel Funeral Home on Tuesday with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Casket bearers were Ted Nixon, Vernon Nixon, Joe Nixon, Bob Wisegarver, Jay Nixon, Vernelle Nixon, David Nixon, Sheldon Nixon, Gene Wisegarver and Everett Haines.

Mr. Bailey was born February 23, 1917, west of Farmer City, s/o George Washington and Edith Nixon Bailey. He married Doris Semple Barrow in Farmer City on November 11, 1962. Surviving are his widow; his parents; two daughters: Mrs. Sara Kay Lowery, Weldon; and Sharyl Dianne, at home; three stepsons: Stephen L., Stanley J., and Spencer R. Barrow, all at home; and one sister, Mrs. Clella Slater, Champaign.

Mr. Bailey was a member of the Methodist Church and the DeWitt County Riding Club. He was a farmer and livestock dealer.
