First Sergeant Robert Nicholas Barton II

--------HOPKINSVILLE,KENTUCKY -- First Sergeant Robert Nicholas Barton II, 35, Hopkinsville, KY, died Monday, June 7, 2010, at Afghanistan.
The funeral will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday at First Baptist Church in Hopkinsville, KY.
Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. Thursday at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home.
Hughart & Beard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A native of Roxie, Miss., he was born Nov. 28, 1974, the son of Nathaniel Coleman, Liberty, Miss., and Rebecca Paugh Coleman, New Haven, W. Va.
As an Army first sergeant, he had completed two tours in Bosnia, a tour in Kuwait, two tours in Iraq and a tour in Afghanistan. He was the recipient of three Bronze Stars, awarded posthumously, along with the Purple Heart.
In addition, he was recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Iraq Campaign Medal with Bronze Star and had earned the Combat Infantry Badge along with the Army Ranger Tab, Expert Infantryman Badge, the Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge and the Air Assault Badge.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Rebecca Allison Noland Barton; a stepson, Jason Well,s of the home; his maternal grandmother, Patricia Paugh, New Haven; his paternal grandparents,Nathaniel and Jo Beth Coleman, Liberty, and his brother, Nathan Coleman, Fort Bragg, N.C.
