FORT WORTH -- Grace Philbeck Doan, 88, a homemaker and wonderful mother, went to be in eternal glory with her Lord Jesus on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003.
Graveside service: 1 p.m. Monday in Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Laurel Land Funeral Home on Crowley Road.
Memorials: Vitas Hospice, with special appreciation to her nurse, Catie Worsford, and the hospice staff at Baylor All Saints Hospital.
Grace was a beloved and devoted wife of 66 years and mother of three children. She was born July 2, 1915, and raised in Fort Worth. She worked briefly at Monnig's Wholesale downtown. After her marriage to her only love, she lived in Texarkana, Big Spring, Houston and Kansas City, Mo., before returning to Fort Worth. She was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an inspiration to us all and will be greatly missed by friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Emily Lurline Philbeck and Mary Ann Philbeck; and a great-grandchild, Katerina Voorhies.
Survivors: Husband of nearly 67 years (Nov. 28), Harry M. Doan; daughters, Marilyn Voorhies and her husband, Dave, of Weatherford, Susan Magana and husband, Tony, of Wimberley; son, Edward Doan of Fort Worth; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
