Bennie Harrison Austin, 73, a lifelong resident of Hatteras, died Monday [June 8, 1964] in Roanoke Valley Nursing Home, Rich Square, after an illness of a year.
He was a son of Benjamin and Mrs. Margaret Smith Austin and a member of Hatteras Methodist Church.
Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Rosa Gaskins of Hatteras.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday morning in the chapel of the Twiford Funeral Home in Hatteras with burial in the family cemetery.
