George E. Spoor was a Union Soldier in Company K California 7th Infantry Regiment. He enlisted as a 2nd Lieutenant at San Francisco November 18, 1864, and was mustered into Company K, 7th California Infantry, November 25. Lieutenant Spoor was posted to Arizona Territory. He returned to California where he was honorably discharged at the Presidio of San Francisco March 27, 1866.

He was the son of Ozais Spoor and Harriet Curtis.

He was the husband of Isabella 'Belle' Harrietta (White) Spoor (1841-1923).
