Arriving at the San Diego MCRD 25 August 1964 Terry was assigned to Platoon L 377 and graduated from Boot Camp 19 November 1964.
Terry arrived in Vietnam 25 August 1964 and was assigned to Support Company, 3rd Service Battalion, 3rd Marine Division.
Terry was a passenger aboard a KC-130F that was preparing to take off the Kai Tak Airport for Danang with a load of Marines that had been in Hong Kong for R & R, when the aircraft crashed off the runway at the Kai Tak Airport. Terry died as a result of bodily injuries from the crash.
Survived by his parents, Loraine and Nelma Fern Chase, his sister; Connie Chase all of Stanely, IA and his grandfather; Frank Chase.
