Olive Haney, 93, of Jefferson Street, Dansville, died Wednesday (Feb. 17, 1993) at the Livingston County Skilled Nursing Facility in Geneseo.
Born in Ohio on July 7, 1899, she was the daughter of William and Anna Hines Kemmerling. She was the widow of Harry Haney who died in 1961.
She was a member of the Dansville United Methodist Church and the Loyal Hearts Circle of the King's Daughters. She was a 50-year member and past Noble Grand of Stoney Brook Rebekah Lodge and served as Rebekah State Chaplain. She was also a 50-year member and past president of the North American Benefit Association. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Daniel Goho Post of the American Legion and a former member of the Genesee Chapter of War Mother's of Women of the Moose Club in Dansville, the Daughters of the Union Veterans and the Loyal Club of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
She had served in the Foster Grandparents Program at Craig Colony in Sonyea for 13 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Fleck of Dansville; a son, Robert D. Haney of Syracuse; a sister, Myrtle Ahser of Ohio; four grandchildren, Linda Garger of Fultonville, Barbara Graf of Hamburg, Donald Thompson of Des Moines and Garri Fredrekson of Dansville; 13 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Pauline Thompson.
Arrangements were by the Hindle Funeral Home in Dansville where a service was Saturday with the Rev. G. Calvin Sheasley officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Activity Fund of the Livingston County Skilled Nursing Facility in Geneseo. Burial was in Greenmount Cemetery in Dansville. (GCE, February 25, 1993, p4)
