Raye was from Wai'anea, Hawaii. She and Eddie Rapoza were high school sweethearts. She was a boarder at Kamehameha Schools' Kapalama campus and Eddie attended Wai'anae High School. In 1990, soon after marrying, the Rapozas moved to Maui, where Raye had an office job at Maui Memorial Medical Center and Eddie worked for a fencing company. However it was a very abusive marriage. During a reconciliation time, they moved to Foster City, California in search of a better life. But Eddie became more and more abusive as time went on. They had a daughter, Tehani, and Raye was 8 months pregnant with their second daughter to be named Sienna, when Eddie plunged the family's 2002 Dodge Caravan plunged over a 150-foot sea cliff. Raye, Tehani and the unborn baby were all killed.
