Leah was the daughter of daughter of John and Susan Mohler. She married William Gilley on January 8, 1854 in Medina Co, Ohio. They were the parents of Ira, Willard, Ida, and Emma.
Nov 5, 1906 - CARROLL — Iowa Evening Press — Mrs. William Gilley, prominent in church circles, died suddenly at midnight last evening. She retired in apparent good health, having attended a Halloween party with her husband but a few hours previous. She was seventy-one years old and came to Carroll county when the Indians roved that section of the State.
Nov 15, 1906 - Milford, Iowa - News came to Milford last week of the death of Mrs Wm Gilley at her home Sunday morning, Nov 4th. Mrs Gilley is well known in Milford for having her summer home for several years past at Gilleys beach on West Okoboji Lake.
Nov 15, 1906 - Carroll - Ira M. Gilley and wife and daughter returned to their home at Grinnell Monday. They were accompanied by Wm. Gilley, who will remain for a prolonged visit.
Carroll Times - August 22, 1907- Mrs. Wm. Gilley, born in Ohio in 1835, married January 8, 1854; located in Carroll county in 1856, died Saturday night, November 3 of heart failure. She was one of the charter members of the Old Settlers' association, well known and beloved by all the pioneers of the county. Her husband survives her and is now at Lake Okoboji with his son, Ira and family.
