Korliss Elizabeth Angus, age 88, of Malvern, passed away at her home on March 29, 2010. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 3, 2010, at the United Methodist Church in Malvern with burial in the Malvern Cemetery. One of three children of Mildred Viola (McGrew) Jordan and Guy Francis Jordan, she was born on June 9, 1921, at her parent's home in the community of Peaceville near Malvern. She attended Pickerill Country School in Anderson Township and was a member of the Wesley Chapel Church. She graduated from Emerson High School in 1940. Following school, she attended Normal Training Teacher's College in Red Oak, and for two summers took a correspondence course in Greeley, Colo. She taught at Pickerill Country School and at Strahan School.

Korliss and David Warren Angus were married on Aug. 26, 1945, in Emerson, at the home of her parents. They made their home on the Angus farm in White Cloud Township and their marriage was blessed with four children, Donald Byron, Virginia Ann, Walter Guy and William Glen. Mrs. Angus was an all-around farm wife and mother. She enjoyed caring for her children, gardening, and helping her husband with the livestock and farming. She was always prepared and carried pliers among other tools in her purse. The only farm equipment she didn't operate was the corn planter, and she continued to be active on the farm until age 79.

Mrs. Angus and her family were active members of the Strahan United Methodist Church. Both she and her husband were very involved in the Mills County 4-H program. 4-H was an important part of her life from childhood through her adult years. She was a member and later became the leader of the Busy Bees 4-H Club. During the Mills County Fair, her duties also included being in charge of the girl's 4-H Building and being a judge in the Home Economics Department and also for educational presentations. She often was a judge at the Iowa State Fair and in 2002 earned the Lifetime Achievement Award.
