Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Brevet Major in the Union Army. He was awarded the Medal of Honor as a Private in Company D, 8th Ohio Infantry for action on May 12, 1864 at Spotsylvania, Virginia. His citation reads "Capture of flag." (bio by: Don Morfe)
